myfans: How to enjoy it for free and what to watch out for

Guides・2026-09-30

This guide reflects myfans' official help center as checked on 2026-09-30. Specifications may change, so please check the official site for the latest information.

Registering for myfans costs nothing — that's exactly what the official documentation says. What you can watch for free are posts not tied to any plan or individual sale, posts under the free plan, and samples of paid videos. When you move on to full paid content, coupons and first-month discounts can lower your initial payment. DM-only sales, however, are paid, so it's best to keep them separate from what's actually free.

Registration is free — using only the free plan never triggers a charge

According to the official help center, registering for myfans is free, and payment only comes into play when you view a creator's paid content. When you join the free plan, you're asked to enter payment information — but as long as you only use the free plan, no charge actually occurs.

Posts fall into three visibility types, and knowing them keeps you from getting confused. Posts not tied to any plan or individual sale can be viewed by anyone. Posts set under the free plan require joining that plan to view, even though it costs ¥0. Posts under a paid plan or sold individually require joining or purchasing. If a creator catches your interest, the safe first step is to follow them and check whether they offer a free plan — following itself is free.

Check the content with sample videos before buying

For video posts, users who haven't joined the plan see a sample video. The full video becomes available after joining, and once you've purchased it, the sample no longer plays. However, for posts where the sample is simply a clip cut from the full video, that clip stays in the full video when you play it — whether you joined the plan or bought it individually — so you end up watching that same scene twice. Sample length and content vary by post, so watching the sample before buying gives you something to judge by.

Lower your first payment with coupons and first-month discounts

There are two kinds of coupons, issued by different parties. Operator-issued coupons: after logging in, check the code under "クーポンがあります" (You have a coupon) in the bottom right, then enter it in the "クーポンコード" (Coupon code) field on the payment screen. Creator-issued coupons: check which ones you hold and their conditions under "クーポン一覧" (Coupon list) in your account, then apply them via "使えるクーポン" (Available coupons) on the purchase confirmation screen.

One exception: bundles. Neither type of coupon can be used on bundle-configured plans. Creator coupons can be used with credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, JCB), Paidy (あと払い/pay-later), 後払い (deferred/invoice payment), and atone. American Express is not currently supported. If the discounted amount comes to less than ¥100, card payment can't be used.

Some plans come with a first-month discount campaign. The discount applies only to the first month — from the second month on, the regular price applies, and it won't apply again for anyone who has joined that plan before, even if they cancel and rejoin. BitCash can't be used for the first-month discount, and even with card payment, plans above a certain price are excluded.

DM-only sales are not free

Creators you follow may send paid exclusive content via DM. The DM shows a thumbnail, price, and purchase button, and the full content stays locked until you buy it. Since the price is set per DM, the same content may be priced differently depending on which DM you received. As a rule, cancellations and refunds after purchase aren't accepted — once you tap buy, there's no undoing it, so check the price before you tap.
